August - Suriname Wheelchair project.

We went to Suriname to help with the training of people to repair wheelchairs and to train people to assure that people in need of a wheelchair get the right size wheelchair.

Just a small portion of the wheelchairs sent to Suriname.

Sister Cullimore and Sister Moore resting on the benches which will be use for people to sit on when they are getting fitted for a new wheelchair.

Wheelchair repair training.  That is Hank in the wheelchair, he is confined to a wheelchair but has a great attitude and really wanted to learn how to repair wheelchairs.

Assembling a rough rider wheelchair.  A rough rider is designed to make it easier to travel outside on rough terrain.

More assembly.

Fitting the back on the rough rider wheelchair.

Discussing what they have learned.

People waiting to get a new wheelchair on the final day of training, when the trainees get to put their new knowledge to use.

Another recipient.

Another one of the recipients with the people who made sure she got the right size wheelchair.

Sister Moore, Sister Cullimore, Minister of Health, ?

The elders were very helpful.  They played the part of patients needing wheelchairs because of various problems, stroke, paralysis, amputation, etc.

This guy was out with his pedal cart business in a rain storm on the flood road.

This was more rain than normal in one rainstorm.

Elder Moore being helped around in a wheelchair.

Elder Moore still needing help up a ramp.

Sister Moore watching to see if he makes it down the ramp safely.

Just a little bit of the mobility training.  The trainees do this so they will know what it is like to move around in a wheelchair.

Teaching the proper way to take someone up and down stairs.

Elder Moore got over being confined to a wheelchair and then had to load some in a truck to take them to the site of the distribution .

Still working hard.
