Out and About Barbados Again.

Sometimes you just got to get out and away.

Wonder if the main dish in town is Mac and Cheese?

Sister Moore just has to have a flower picture now and again.

Now off to Gun Hill.
We got a visit from Rock and Frances Rice when they came to Barbados on a cruise.  They wanted to spend time with us and see something other than the regular tourist stops.  We went to Gun Hill a restored signal station from British colonial days.

Just wish I had a match.  Oh well, no fuse anyway.

The signal station.

Short history about the signal stations.

Don't complain about your kitchen.  You could be using this.

I said it was called Gun Hill.

Senior Conference Jan 26 - 29 in Trinidad

One more time to Trinidad.  This trip was to attend the West Indies Senior Missionary conference.  Because of the Mission split on 1 July 2015 this is the last Senior conference for the West Indies Mission.

We were part of a panel discussion/presentation.  Here we are paying attention to Sister Thompson who was also on the panel.

President Poulson (1st Counselor in Mission Presidency), Sister Poulson, Sister Mehr, President Mehr (Mission President), President Eclar (2nd Counselor in Mission Presidency).

What a group.  Lots of fun.  Lots of experience to share with the local leaders on the islands and countries we are assigned to.

Well, we look well fed.

First the work, then comes the fun.

Out to the Carini Swamp to see the Scarlet Ibis.

No it's not a Scarlet Ibis, it's a blue heron.

Still not a Scarlet Ibis.  Look out for snakes.

Look at them roots.

Aw, here are the Scarlet Ibis.

Ok, we only lost Sister Mehr overboard.  Not really she is behind the camera.

Off to the Abandoned Tracking Station and the Bamboo Cathedral

Yep that's where we went.

Up at the tracking station.  Good looking couple.

The girls.

The guys.

The tracking antenna.

Who in their right mind would climb up there. (Elder Moore?)

Off in the distance right in the middle through the haze you can just see Venezuela.

Sister Moore in the Bamboo Cathedral.  When the wind blows through the bamboo it makes a wonderful sound.

No, you can't climb it.
