August - St. Lucia Project

We had a project to supply materials for an After School Project in St. Lucia.  They have a program to help young people have place to go where they learn and participate in activities.  The parents and teachers of those who participate say that they can see a difference in their attitude and school performance.

Sister Moore is posing by the Suzuki Swift we rented to get around the island.  The backdrop is the Cemetery at the end of the runway at the airport.  (Convenient if there is a plane accident.)

Sister Moore enjoying our "Continental Breakfast".  We went to the store and bought things that we could keep in the refrigerator so we could eat breakfast in our room.

Elder and Sister Moore with the Permanent Secretary Department of Social Transformation, Mrs. Joseph (the project champion), and Elder Gubler.

Shopping for the supplies for the After School Project with Mrs. Joseph.  Just part of the list: 1000 pencils, 700 pens, 300 pack of crayons, 800 notebooks, etc.

The harbor.

Eating at a local restaurant.  Good food.

It was raining when we were to get on the place to leave.  See the people in blue in the background, they are wearing plastic raincoats provided by Liat the Caribbean Airline.

I said it was raining.
