June The Month of Humanitarian and Service Projects

We were told about a possible Humanitarian project at the Sharon Primary School here in Barbados.

We went to check out what the project would entail.  Below are pictures of the play area that they would like help in renovating.

The fence is down and the playground is over grown and the equipment can use some tender loving care.

The yellow building is one of the buildings housing classrooms at the school.

We went to Cyralene's Senior Citizen Home and presented a movie.  Some of the seniors are in their 90's.

We had attendee's from the Blackrock, Barbados Branch and the Missionaries serving in that Branch.  No the cute blond in the middle is not a resident, yet.

And of course we had the opportunity to do a puppet show about the dangers of alcohol abuse.  This show was at the St. John's Primary School on the east side of Barbados.

On the left is Elder Hopkins, one of the puppeteers.  On the right is Elder Richardson who is asking the students questions about what they have just watched.

Some of the students were very eager to raise their hands and answer the questions.

Sometimes there was quite a few wanting to answer.

After the puppet show the students met the puppeteers.
