Barbados Christmas Party.

Dec. 28, 2013
Blackrock branch had their Christmas Party.  So it was after Christmas but it was still a lot of fun and Santa Clause came just for it.  Well maybe he was vacationing in Barbados.  Who knows for sure?

The Christmas Programme.

Like I said it is a Programme.

Sister and Elder Moore, that's Elder Babb with his mouth open.

Elder Babb eating candy.

Elder Westra (a Dutchman in Barbados) I think he likes the food!

Santa Clause has lost weight from all that travel and hard work.  Don't think he gets much sun up north---no tan.
Elder Hendry he's from Canada.
The little girl in green was always hugging Sister Moore and saying, "I love you".   The little girl in yellow was a little more shy.

Santa talking to the branch members.

The start of the nativity story.

The nativity story with the shepherds, wise men, Joseph, Mary and the Baby Jesus.

The questions to get points for the Chinese auction.

After the Nativity story there was a Chinese auction.  Elder Moore bid 210 points for a bottle of sparkling grape juice (it was non-alcoholic).

After the programme Sister Sinkler asked us to take the sound system to the home of her friend who had brought it.  We are driving a 4x4 Toyota pickup with a standard transmission (Sister Moore won't drive it).  We did this but hoped we could find our way back to a familiar landmark.  It turned out to be easy even though it was dark outside (sunset happens at 6 pm.).  One interesting thing after the sun goes down the greeting is "Good Night".  The first time this happened I thought how different, I thought they were bidding me good-bye, and I had just arrived.  How different the cultures are.

And so ends 2013.

Seasonings Greetings
This was written on the chalk board in one of the branches just before Christmas.
