Animal Flower Cave.

Just for fun we took off and went on a road trip.  We went up the west side of Barbados and ended up at the northern end.  Here we came across Animal Flower Cave.  This is a cave that was used by the Pirates to hide their booty (at least that's what we were told).

Just the two of us with the Atlantic Ocean in the back ground.

Spray from a wave hitting the rocks.  The water was quite rough on this day.

No that is not just a picture through a hole.  It is the spray coming through a hole in the coral cliff.

View from inside the cave.  That point of cliff is the northern most point of Barbados.  It is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea.

Elder Moore finally let go of the camera and got his picture taken in the cave with the Atlantic visible through the hole behind him (no he would not take a step back even when Sister Moore said back a little more).

This formation was on the ceiling of the cave.  Look at the fingers and fingernails.  This formation is 16 to 18 inches long.

A tourist near one of the openings out to the water.  The cave is not at water level.  The water in the pools are from the splash when waves hit the rocks below.

Of course Sister Moore (she's right in the middle of the picture) had to roll up her capri pant legs so she could get her feet wet in a pool in the cave.

This is what the cave is named after.  Sea anemones in a pool in the cave.

A wave splash near the point.  That is not just a little splash those cliffs are at least 40 ft. or more tall.

A sign on a power pole by the road.  We didn't see any monkeys here but they are all over the island.  There are only two types of wild mammals on the island of Barbados, the Barbados Green Monkey and the Mongoose.  Both of these were imported and are not native to the island.
