We went to Grenada to purchase the materials for the Richmond Home for the Elderly.  Sorry, no pictures of us actually working, but we really did.

 

The birds found a school of fish and went fishing.

Why is it Quarantine?  Sister Moore is sure worried about it.

Checking out the Irving Wilson school for a possible project.

We went to the Irving Wilson School for the Blind here in Barbados.  This visit was to access the needs of the school and see if we could possibly do something to help the school be better able to serve the needs of the blind students.

 

Brother Rudyard Welch who is blind has a lot of good contacts which help us to find people who know what the needs are.  Here in this picture we have Brother Welch, Sister Moore, and Senator Kerry Ann Ifill.  Senator Ifill is blind and works with the disabled in Barbados.  She is the President of the Senate.  Senator Ifill attended classes at the Irving Wilson School.

The Irving Wilson School is expanding the number of students they can help.  They now have classes for autistic children also.

PEF "Perpetual Education Fund" and Self-reliance training.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encourages the members of the Church to get an education to be better able to provide for themselves and their families.  There are low cost loans available through PEF to assist the Church members to get an education.  The money for PEF comes through donations by other members of the Church.  The recipient of the loan can have much of the loan forgiven by meeting certain goals.  The Church also encourages the members to become self-reliant and provide for their needs.  The following pictures are of a group of people here in Barbados who were attending the introductory fireside to begin the process of becoming more self-reliant.

 

To Bath or not to Bath.

We took a road trip up the east coast of Barbados and came back through the center of the island.

St. Lucia Out 'N' About

We went on a trip to St. Lucia to train the local leadership on what to look for in a Humanitarian Project and submit it for consideration.  We had a little time to see some of the island.

Celebrating the West Indies Mission.

Here in Barbados we had a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of the West Indies Mission.  The celebration was one where people could showcase their talents.
